The Giver

We started reading the Giver to page 16. This book is way different than what I had expected. Their way of life is very unusasul to me. For example, the wife and the husband are given to each other, their childeren are given to them they can ask for is the gender. And, the familes are made up of one husband, one wife, one daughter, and one son. But, the thing I learned that was really something and I think was super wrong was that children born with imperfections is so called "released" from their community. I hope to read more and maybe my perspective of this book will change or maybe not.
