Mr. Morrison came to live with the Logan family because he was not very stable and needed a job.  The Arican Americans faced murder, blame, and other hateful things.

The African American students are treated unfairly.  No I do not think that is fair, because we are all equal, God created us equally.  The household of the Berry's was burned, and so was John Henry Berry.  It was many whites who did not appreciate the black people.  Yes I would love to become friends with the Logan family, because we would have the same point of view, and we would pull each other through the tough times that we encounter.

1. • Why has Mr. Morrison come to live with the Logans?
He has come to live with them because he needed somewhere to stay until he got back onto his feet and finds a job.
2.  • What danger did the African-American people in the community face because of their color?
They face the challenges of being segregated and not being equal with whites. And they are getting beat and killed for no reason really.
3. • What might it feel like to be the victim of hatred?

I would feel like I was unwanted and it would be hard for be to face others everyday while also being ridiculed.

1. How are the African-American students treated? Do you think this is fair?
The African American students do not get treated fairly by others. When the teacher saw what was written in the book sh felt no sympathy what so ever that the word nigga was written in there. The bus driver for the other near by school always tried to get the children dirty by flying by fast on the bus getting them dusty or when it was raining getting them muddy.
2. • What happened to the Berry family? What does this event tell you about racism in the South in the 1930s?
The Berry family's house was burnt down and they burnt John Henry Berry to death. African Americans were despised by white people just because of their skin color and no specific reason.
3. • Would you like to be friends with the Logan children? Why or why not?
Yes I would like to be friends with the Logan children because they seem like they would stick up for their friends no matter what.
